In an announcement dated March 24, 2020, the privacy-centric web browser Brave announced that it had partnered with cryptocurrency exchange Binance to integrate the latter’s widget to grant users direct access to Binance and Binance.US’ sites.

Brave Integrates Binance Widget

In a major move to boost the use of cryptocurrencies among its enviable user base, blockchain-powered Internet browser Brave has joined forces with Maltese cryptocurrency exchange Binance to integrate the platform’s digital currency trading feature.

Through this partnership, Brave users will now be able to seamlessly trade digital assets through Binance. What’s more, they will also be able to buy and sell crypto assets, view asset balances, and obtain deposit addresses without having to leave the browser.

Per the official announcement, the newly integrated widget is available on Brave’s new tab page. This partnership, notably, also makes Brave the only browser that allows users the functionality for buying and trading cryptocurrency.

The alliance allows Brave users to trade major digital currencies including Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), XRP, and Litecoin (LTC), among others.

User Privacy Won’t Be Compromised

Staying true to its privacy feature, the Binance widget in Brave is a built-in one and not a loaded iframe, which means that it will help users preserve their privacy. API calls will only be made into Binance if the user authenticates via OAuth and interacts with the widget.

Commenting on the development, Brave CEO and co-founder, Brendan Eich, said:

Cryptocurrency trading can be a daunting task for users not familiar with such assets, so integrating Binance into the Brave browser makes the process seamless and simple. By bringing a leading exchange like Binance directly into the browser, Brave is taking cryptocurrency trading mainstream and enabling users to conduct transactions with ease.

Similar sentiments were echoed by Binance CEO, CZ, who said:

The Binance widget on Brave’s privacy-oriented browser instills a safer way to buy and sell crypto and also reduces user friction to onboard, trade and interact with the Binance ecosystem. We are looking forward to our long-term partnership with Brave to make it even easier to interact with crypto and encourage more utility in the near future.

In similar news, BTCManager reported on March 6, 2020, how Brave had released browser fingerprinting protect on its Nightly version.
